“Friends of Komodo” is a concert open to the public free of charge. The concert forms part of a nationwide awareness campaign launched on July 1, 2011 to spread consciousness of the need to conserve the many natural species found within the Komodo National Park and its surrounding environment.
The concert will feature a number of leading musicians committed to protecting and preserving Komodo via linking up with “Friends of Komodo”. Among those slated to perform are Dwiki Dharmawan, Dira Sugandi, Mercy Dumais and Sandhy Sondoro. Traditional performing groups from East Nusa Tenggara are also expected to grace the stage with the sounds of Indonesian’s eastern islands.
